Xfinity came to install underground cable and left the internet not working.

Just moved to the area and got 1 gbps internet but was getting much less and it was unstable with frequent ping spikes. Tech came and recommended new underground wire installation. The team came and went and left the internet completely dead. The modem is blinking red and no matter how often it is power cycled, it doesn’t change. Called customer support and the soonest they can get another tech to come out is Friday (today is Tuesday). I am beyond furious and trying to deal with lost work and wages. I also cannot hotspot as my cell reception here is very weak. The customer service rep guaranteed no compensation, only that they will look into it. A quick search through the forums here reveal this has happened before. Downright ridiculous that they can leave a job “finished” like that. And to those who say it’s two separate teams that install and then connect the wiring, why force the customer to call to report an outage? Why not complete both jobs in one go? Common sense is lacking.

xkz554 I work from home and know it can be difficult to make arrangements when service isn't working properly. I recommend signing up for our appointment waitlist: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/appointment-waitlist in case something earlier becomes available. I'd like to collect your information in a DM so I can monitor the appointment and make sure everything is back up and running once it's complete.
