Xfinity and Google Home Devices

My google home devices were working great until I added an Xfinity Pod extender to my network. Now it seems that my google home devices only work when they are connected to the gateway, not the pod. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hey there, @user_a9af06! Thank you for reaching out to us! That is certainly strange, what are the google home devices you are attempting to connect? Is there any error message or do they simply just not work after connecting to the xFi Pods?

@XfinityAdrienne I use three devices which have google home connectivity, a sonos soundbar, a sonos roam and a google home mini. When they are connected through the Pod wifi, I get the error message "Something went wrong, please try again". Also, if I delete the google home functionality from the device and try to reinstall it while the device is connected to the Pod wifi, it is not able to find any device with google home functionality. Everything works fine when the devices are connected to my gateway but I don't think its possible to force devices to connect to the gateway.

Did you find any resolution for this issue?

I recently added an xFi pod to our master bedroom and my Google Home stopped responding. There is a google nest home (video nest) in the same room that works 100%, but the home speaker says "there was a glitch" for the first 3 requests, THEN it will respond to any requests.

@user_vl6tkk

Please create a new topic of your own here on this board detailing your issue. Thanks. The original poster has not returned. 4-month-old dead thread is now being closed.

For future reference, it is better to submit your own post as it creates a ticket to get help, and posting on someone else's older thread can delay getting help.
