Xfi1 - vb6 - noise

 The new Xfi Vb6 that was delivered is very noisy - there is a constant fan or humming sound.  What is the resolution to this?  I was on a chat with Xfinity but their only suggestion was a downgrade to an Xb3.  

Has anyone else satisfactorily resolved this?
