Xfi White Modem - Ports are much slower than WiFi
About 1 - 2 weeks ago, without changing anything, my hard wired connections to the modem dropped to around 89Mbps where they had been 300Mbps+. I had it bridged to a router that I use due to the features the router has. However, it was only connecting at less than 100Mbps. I changed the Xfi modem back to regular mode and remove the router from the equation. I connected my laptop, running Windows 11, directly to a port on the modem. Again, I couldn't get speeds higher than 100Mbps. However, the WiFi was connecting at over 300Mbps. I tried moving around the different ports and still no change.
I called Xfinity and they sent out a technician. The technician checked the lines, both inside and outside the house, and they were all within specifications. However, when he connected his Xfinity laptop up, it shows 300Mbps + through the ports. Again, I tried a couple other devices and again, using his same cable and port, I couldn't get above 100Mbps. He replaced the modem just to make sure it wasn't a problem with it. Again, the same thing. If I connected through WiFi I got 300Mbps+ but if I connected through a port, I got less than 100Mbps.
The obvious answer is that my devices have a 10/100 card or a throttle on. However, all devices that I tried have 10/100/1000Mbps cards (LAN Port). It seems as if the modem itself is throttling to 100Mbps through the ports. Is there a setting on the modem that I need to change?
Has anyone else had this issue and did you solve it?
Thanks!
