xfi router and wifi at the same time!

Just got my new xFi modem.  Plugged everything in, went through the setup, and my wifi works perfectly.  Ookla Speedtest giving me 850mps downloads.  I connected my switch. Plugged in all my desktops to the switch... and nothing.   Wifi works great.  Ethernet does not.

A quick check online tells me I need to go into the modem settings and change to "Bridge Mode".   Great.  I do that.  90 seconds later, ethernet works great - blazing fast 950mps download.  Then I check my wifi - wifi is turned off.   Ipads, laptops, cell phone... all wifi connections are dead.

I do more research online, cant find a solution.  So I go back into the modem settings, turned bride mode off, 90 seconds later, now NOTHING works.

HELP!   Need ethernet with my switch AND wifi to work AT THE SAME TIME.   Can someone at xfinity help me. (ps, im at work for a couple of hours, so any post you make will help me when I get home).

Thanks, Anthony

EDIT:  I unplugged my modem for 15 minutes.  Wifi works great now, but ethernet does not.  Im going to leave it this way untl i get help.

EDIT #2 :  Reddit helped.  Did a Factory Reset of the modem.  WiFi and Ethernet and unmanaged switch works great now.

EDIT #3:  WiFi is pulling in 165Mbps download.  (Using my iPad and iPhone 11 and accessing speed test ookla,  I know WiFi is slower, but I’m paying for 1 gig downloads, I should get WiFi faster than 165Mbps, right?  (Tested speeds were 8 feet from modem) .

Edit #4:  slow WiFi fixed thanks to Reddit again.  Had to login to modem (10.0.0.1), go to CONNECTION/ WIFI.  I saw my WiFi name (SSID) under 2 places - 2ghz and 5ghz - and found the problem.   Only the 2ghz was ENABLED, the 5ghz was DISABLED.  So I clicked “Edit”, And ENABLED the 5ghz.

Now my WiFi speeds (verified from speed test ooklah) are around 650Mbps to 750Mbps download.  Super happy with this now.

I have posted this experience in detail here so to help someone else.

(Very disappointed that Xfinity didn’t step up to help today)
