Hey @txmountaingirl , it looks like @BruceW provided a great article regarding the compatibility of the xFi pods and is correct that all xFi features, including xFi Pods, are only available if you rent a compatible xFi Gateway for Internet and WiFi access and your connecting devices. Our xFI Gateways work hand-in-hand with all your Xfinity services and are full of amazing benefits and features.
I would love to help you order and set up an xFi Gateway if that sounds like something you would be interested in.
Just send us a direct message with your full name and full address and we can get started!
No, the pods will not work with your Arris. That is a good thing. Pods combine the 2.4 and 5 GHz channels and that cannot be undone. Pods create numerous other problems as well. Pods are dummied down to the point that they are for all intents and purposes useless.
You should look for a good range extender. It will allow you to have much more control over your network, provide *FAR* better performance than the pods, and will allow you to set up your network in a manner that is best for your home.

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfi-pods-faqs suggests that pods only work with Comcast's rental gateways, not 3rd party retail devices.
