XFi gateway
I was using my own Arrus modem, but wanted to upgrade to the latest and greatest TV, VOICE, ETC, everything to get the full experience, so I started renting the X1 Gateway as well.
What I have found however after testing it multiple times is that the best way to get the higher speed and better range is to put the X1 in Bridge mode so that it is a modem only, and plug my Netgear router into it. Thereby losing some , quite a bit actually, but not all of "the full experience".
I guess my question is have others had this same type of thing, is the X1 just working too hard as a router and a modem, were there some deeper settings I should have looked into?

Hi Bobby, You have to set it up for what works best for you. Some customers are going to work best having the XB3/XB6/XB7 Gateway and maybe xFi pods and then some customers are going to have it work best for using any of those Gateways and in bridge mode with their own router/extender etc. You just have to do what works best for you and your internet needs for your network inside your home.

That makes sense. We have a lot of devices going all the time. The X1 was not dropping connections or behaving badly, just found the current configuration to be a faster. I'll have to consider whether or not to purchase my own modem.
Thanks for the answers.
