XFi Gateway - Wifi keeps dropping
Title says it all. Using Technicolor XFi device. At least three, sometimes 4 times a day, my 2.4 and 5.0 ghz Wifi networks go down for a few minutes.
Wired connections are fine, it's only wifi. I'm currently setting up a spare laptop to continually monitor the Wifi connection and I suspect it's actually going down much more often, but with the house empty for hours a day because of work/school, we're just not seeing it.
My Netgear R7000P router using my own Docsis 3.1 modem didn't drop the wifi signal once in four months of operations. I'm now forced to use the XFi Gateway to save $50+ a month on the Gigabite unlimited data package and so far I'm less than impressed.
What's the resolution? This is week-old gigabit service on a factory reset XFi gateway.

Some tips for improving WiFi performance;

There are other options. Google for WiFi repeaters / range extenders, WiFi mesh systems / pods.

Seeing the exact same problem! This is so frustrating. Usually happens during critical meetings as well. Ready to kick Xfinity down the curb and toss the router off the window.
