xfi gateway, home phone not working

I replaced my tower modem with a new xfi gateway router. When I plugged in my home phone it failed to work

Do you have data / internet service ? Do you actually subscribe to their phone service ? If so, perhaps the phone / voice modem portion of the device wasn't activated while it was being provisioned for service. I'm going to escalate your issue to the Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) who are available to these boards. They will be able to poll the device and double-check its provisioning.

Hi @user_r782pb I’m sorry to hear you're having an issue with your home phone. I am happy to help with your concerns.  Is the phone cord plugged into the wall outlet or the back of the modem? Can you plug it into the back of the modem to see if you receive a dial tine? Are you able to try another outlet?

Did the power light come on?
