xFi Gateway for home, need to add a separate (no wi-fi) VPN Router for work

I need to create a separate "space" / network to keep my work computer separate from my home network.

I have the xFI Gateway and was told I could connect the additional router via ethernet to the Gateway. I was also told I would need to enable bridge-mode. That said, I have multiple devices connected to the Gateway via ethernet already (PS5, NAS, gaming PC) and do not want to lose this capability. I understand that putting the xFi Gateway into bridge-mode will basically prevent me from keeping this set up in place - which is not an option.

Therefore, my question is can I put the VPN router (TP-Line ER605) into bridge mode instead?  My plan is to connect my work computer to it via ethernet so no wi-fi is needed and nothing else will be connected.

Anyone do something like this, and did it work? Will it actually keep my work and home networks separate so one cannot "infect" the other (heaven forbid that should happen)?

@SecretSquirrel71, hello and thank you for using the community forums page. In order to connect any external equipment to your Xfinity provided gateway you would need to put the Xfinity gateway into bridge mode. I know this conflicts with the current setup you have, but you may be able to reach out to the manufacturer of your router for additional details on other options.
