XBT-8 MoCA installation
My upstairs has a very weak wifi signal. House is wired with coax through out. I don'y understand if I only need 1 MoCA adapter for 1 room, where does it go? How does the router get a signal to the coax running upstairs?
PoE filter installed already.

It goes in that room where it is needed. It gets connected to a coax line / outlet there. An Ethernet client / computer then gets connected to it. Make sure that the MoCA feature in the XB8 is enabled. And make sure that any coax splitters that are in between it and the XB8 are MoCA compliant (5-1675 MHz) ones: https://www.amazon.com/ELECTRONICS-Balanced-Splitter-Compliant-5-1675MHz/dp/B01552LYL6

The MoCA signals go through the coax cable along with the regular internet signals. Only it is at a different frequency range.

If there isn't any coax throughout, why would you even think of using MoCA adapters. If the Ethernet outlets are interconnected and wired correctly, you should be able to backfeed them all by connecting a LAN port on your router to one of them with a cat6 Ethernet cable.

Hey there user_74be2s 👋 I know you've been working with our expert EG on this already, but I just wanted to check in to see how things are currently holding up with those weak Wi-Fi signals you mentioned dealing with in the upstairs part of your home. Please let us know if you're needing additional help!
