xbox game party disconnects and game dropouts every 10 minutes.

Every time I "test" my Xbox connection, things are 100% fine.  Fast bandwidth (up to 400 MBPs) not packet loss etc.   Game downloads are fine etc.

On Friday May 20th 2022 in the 94954 area, Comcast/Xfinity did some kind of network upgrade/maintenance in my area (I got emails and phone notifications about preparing for "next-generation Internet speeds" .  Ever since then, every time I play Rocket League (Xbox Live Game) I get connection drop-outs every 10 minutes for about 6 seconds.   This makes the online games unplayable and so frustrating. The Xbox game party will also disconnect about 1/2 the time meaning I am not only getting game network issues but the game party completely disconnects about once every 10 minutes.  I plan on contacting support but I know they are just going to tell me to reboot the router and xbox etc., etc.  The issue is not bandwidth its network reliability and that does not show itself on any of the 30 second network tests.  I have even run 3 minute packet loss tests and they don't show any problems either. It just seems be a new issue with Xbox and live games.   I have tested with both Wired and WiFi and the symptoms are exactly the same. I even turned off all other internet devices in my home just to see if some other device was causing the issue but the symptoms were the same.

Just posting here to see if anyone else is seeing these issues starting after the recent Xfinity maintenance.

Update: As far as work (non-gaming related) issues, my Video upload seems (i.e. MS Teams) is appearing to have these intermittent drop-outs as well. But I noticed that I was still able to hear and view others in the party but they were telling my my video and audio froze.  So, I suspect that the issue may only be related to unreliable upload and not download. This would explain how its impacting gaming but not general download bandwith.

After making this post, Xfinity did acknowledge there were problems in my area.

For a total of six days, Internet service was very poor. Download was fine but anything that required upload disconnect often. I’m very glad it was fixed but disappointing it took nearly 6 days. I think Xfinity should be offering some kind of rebate for people affected by these long-term performance issues. I actually don’t care about receiving any discount, it’s just that I feel if there’s no downside, Xfinity will not pay enough attention to network quality.

It would also help if there was an easier way to report network performance complaints specifically . I didn’t even realize “Xfinity Support” could be contacted directly through chat until I was told how to do it (thanks Xfinity Sheila). That seemed very odd to me. Xfinity support was well executed and informative once contacted but they have to scan through all the posts and then reach out?

Now my work from home is becoming unbearable since my upload freezes multiple times per hour.  This is becoming unusable.
