XB8-T Power consumption in Bridge Mode with Wifi Hotspot disabled

I have a new XB8-T Gateway set up in Bridge mode with Wifi Hotspot disabled.

Google search suggests “XB8 gateway modem typically consumes around 8.7 watts of power”.

When I test power consumption of my XB8 using a Kill A Watt meter it shows a steady 17W. Does this sound excessive? If anyone else has a similar setup and a Kill a Watt I am interested in what power draw you see.

Thanks,

David

... When I test power consumption of my XB8 using a Kill A Watt meter it shows a steady 17W ...

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/internet-equipment-energy-usage lists the CGM4981COM (XB8) "idle power" at 18 Watts, so your reading looks pretty reasonable.
