XB8 with Asus router

My XB8 wifi doesn't extend to my garage.  I ran a RJ45 from the xb and connected it to an Asus router.  There is a printer connected to wifi on the asus.  How can I use that printer from a computer connected via wifi to the XB8. Thanks.

Hello, and thank you for joining the Xfinity Forums community, user_vnejlb. If you're planning to use your own router with an Xfinity gateway, you'll need to enable Bridge Mode on the gateway. This step turns off the gateway’s built-in router, allowing your personal router to take over managing your home network. It might sound a bit technical, but doing this ensures your router can perform at its best without interference. If you need help with the steps, I’d be happy to walk you through it! Complete steps can be found in the helpful article below.

user_vnejlb If both the Xfinity gateway and your router are acting as routers, they create two separate networks. This can lead to issues where devices on your network can't properly communicate with each other or with external servers. What you may need is a Wi-Fi Extender, Xfinity offers Wi-Fi extenders at the following link https://www.xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/wifi/wifi-extender you can find other options to help boost you home Wi-Fi signal here https://www.xfinity.com/hub/internet/extend-range-of-wifi-network.

FWIW, the Asus router may have a built-in WiFi extender feature.
