Xb8 modem wifi connection problems

Upgraded to the XB8 modem/router. Now my wireless printer, some smart plugs, and my Xfi Pod will not connect to my network. Spent over 3 hours with two different agents and got nowhere!

The solution that no one at Xfinity seemed to know was that the XB8 defaults to WPA3-Personal. HP printers and my other wifi items, that wouldn't connect, use WPA2.

I went into the Xfi app, clicked on connect, then click on "your network ", the "view or edit wifi settings". Change "security settings" to WPA2 and everything magically connected!

Thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums @tgolota. I am sorry to hear you have run into trouble connecting some devices. You have reached the right team to help. First, let's make sure your network is set up properly.

 

Do you have dual band technology setup? Are you trying to separate your networks into multiple bands? For more information regarding connecting third-party devices see this article https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/issues-connecting-devices-wifi-network

 

Have you done any basic troubleshooting (restarting the modem, unplugging device and plugging back in)?
