XB8 Modem continues to drop connections over WIFI and Ethernet

We recently got an upgrade to the XB8 modem from the XB6-T. Previously we had no issues with that modem other than outages in the area, but figured the upgrade would do some good. The installation went with out issue, but the next day during gaming sessions I noticed lag spikes that would hang for 4-5 seconds then snap back. Figured to try some changes with where things were plugged in but issue persisted. From there I did ping tests from both my Ethernet connected computer and a wireless laptop, both showed failed tests at the same time when it occurred. Called tech support and they did mention there was an issue with the signal and would send a tech to look at it, but all other signals were fine. Tech did come out and replaced some corroded cabling in the house. Sadly, that did not fix the issue. Called tech support the next day and once more they could not see an issue on their end but did send other tech. He came out and swapped the modem from WP3 to WP2 which seemed to correct the issue but once more the issue still wasn't fixed. The problem is that the random outages have no pattern, it happens through all times of day. I did swap the Ethernet computer to use the router to see if it would make a difference and the issue still persists. I am not sure what more to do other than replace the modem itself because it appears defective.  Reaching out here to see if anyone has experienced anything similar before I try to work with tech support again.
