XB8 is terrible

My network drops constantly. I've had techs out numerous times. It's so frustrating. Network was great on the xb7. The xb8 I have to turn of wifi 6 by logging into the modem itself to get any reliable connection. I have a bunch of smart devices that have never had a problem in the past. Modem constantly restarts. Then it assigns incorrect ip addresses in the 192.168.x.x range and they should be in 10.0.0.x range. Every time comcast pushes a refresh my modem turns wifi 6 back on. And then I cannot connect any devices. It's so frustrating. I may drop comcast and go to starling. My internet has been awful for over a year. I'm being charged full price for a daily unusable network.

I just ordered my own modem. Comcast having full control over it is what's causing the problems. Why charge me for internet I am unable to use? If Comcast tries to force any push changes to my own personal modem I will absolutely drop them altogether.

@RCNOTTHECOLA I am sorry to hear about the connection issues you are having. Per the modem, you can definitely own your own modem at any time that you want. You would want to visit the link: https://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com/ to check on compatible modems. As long as the modem is a modem/ router combination you would not need to get separate equipment. The troubles greatly out weigh the benefits. Just turning off the wifi on the xb8 has solved 90% of my problems. I bought a standalone wifi router to use. My network hasn't dropped or shut down since I stopped using the one built into xfinity's modem. Truly bad service for the price we pay. Thank you though.
