XB8 doesn't dupport HP printer Officjey 4630- Xfinity needs to update XB8 firmware to support WPA3
Switched from good old XB6 to new XB8, after 2 hours I got it working BUT my HP printer 4630 didn't work: during network identification it FAILED 'No Filtering' while filter is off. Found, finally, that it was caused because XB8 used by default WPA3 Personel. HP printers (it seem no HP printer (for home usage)) supports WPA3, and gateway must be back schaled to WPA2. Cannot be done via gateway (10.0.0.1) itself, but via the XFi APP (although it is a bit hidden): Go to XFi APP, select 'connect' on bottom, select the network name, 'view/edit WiFi Settings', change security mode to WPA2. (WPA3-transition doesn't work either). So I was able to fix it, but with lower security settings for the whole gateway! Xfinity needs to fix this and make a firmware upgrade to support WPA3. As said, it seems none of HP printers support WPA3, even the new ones. didn't check yet for alternative.

After switching from the XB7 to the XB8 our wireless HP officejet refused to connect to our wifi network. It is odd that of 20 or so devices the only wifi client that would not work was the HP printer (even though none of our devices-except the XB8-supports WPA3, they had no problem connecting to the XB8 w/ 'WPA3-personal-transition'). The HP printers simply refused to connect like all my other devices, so you must set the 2.4Ghz network to WPA2 through the Xfinity App. (You should split the bands, and only the 2.4 band needs to be set to WPA2). I am not happy leaving a gaping hole in my security on my network allowing WPA2 on the 2.4Ghz network, but to use the printer and its wifi WPA2 is required. The XB8 certainly supports WPA2 despite what I have seen elsewhere on the internet claiming otherwise.
