XB7 speed very slow

TheBoro Thank you so much for reaching out for help with your speed and Xfi gateway concerns. The Xb7 is rated for the Gigabit speeds to which would be at the top end of supported speeds. An Xb8 would provide room for growth, and we do typically send more speed than your plan includes to make sure you get what you should. I would first recommend using the Xfinity assistant or the Xfinity app to troubleshoot and check your network. If no issue is detected, the Xb8 may be a good option. You can pick up one at any of our Xfinity Store locations. If there is an issue detected, I would recommend setting up a tech appointment, and they can provide an Xb8 if needed.
