XB7 on 1.2GB Plan only getting ≈600mbps Provisioning signal needed?
@XfinityRay Creating a thread here to document my own problems. What a disaster it's been upgrading to the XB7. I wish I'd dug a bit deeper. Long story short I have a new PC coming and the speed issues may be because the 160MHz tier in the XB7 is locked out? I can't verify that now since I'm on a backup PC that simply isn't capable of those speeds.
Paying for 1.2GB and having advertised Gig Speed wifi seems odd that we're limited. But perhaps it's a signal issue? You were the first to alert me to that and it seems like a good place to start.
Not all computers can handle 160MHz, so for those that can, we should have the ability to enable those speeds, especially if we're paying for them. If it means data gets capped at a certain level, that's one thing, but to have the system locked to keep anyone from getting the level of speed they paid for seems wrong.
Anyway, just wanted to get this thread going here in an attempt to get things working as they should. Giving Xfinity nearly $400 a month should at least get us what we paid for.
My new PC should be here Thursday, I threw such a fit over the speed they took it back after almost a year. It's looking like it may not have been the PC at all and I didn't do enough research.
Thanks for any help that gets the wifi working as it should.

I would love to help and address your speed concerns regarding your modem and it's signal. Please go ahead and follow the steps below to send me a DM!
To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3EqVMu7
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it
See https://comca.st/3KQF8q9 for an example.

New computer is up and running, specs make it slightly faster, but it isn't connecting via WiFi6 as it should and despite having Supersonic WiFi, and well over 1.2gbps coming into the XB7, the wifi speed as tested on the Xfinity Speed test is 201.6 mbps. Attrocious.
A tech is scheduled to come tomorrow, but I'd love to get the problem solved and spare someone from having to come out at all.
Thanks!

I've now got the XB8, speed coming into it is over 1.2GB, sadly it's just not broadcasting at those speeds. My speed is still about 600mbps, which is very fast, but when you're sold on "Supersonic WiFi" with speeds over a gig. I notice they've backed off of that claim and now it's "multi gig capable". I'd like to know if anyone at all is getting 1 gig speeds from their XB7 or XB8. My tech seemed to imply it just wasn't possible, regardless of what my computer can do.
Also, the XB7 shows the 160Hz, but its not accessible. The XB8, has a dedicated 6Ghz section when you look at your router at 10.0.0.1.
On the bright side, while he was here the tech did find and fix a knick in the line coming into the house, and also swapped out a few things and returned my old modem. Great guy, very helpful and sadly I think he upgraded me to the best Xfinity has to offer.
Long story short, if it's WiFi speed you want, Xfinity can offer it, but their equipment cannot deliver it. Buy your own router if you want to take advantage of the speed you're paying for. The XB7 and XB8 are excellent if you want ease of use. Literally plug and play, but they're not delivering the Wi-Fi speeds I'm guessning may of us were sold on.

You don’t mention it, but you have to have a Wi-Fi 6 card to achieve those speeds, with my old Xb7 I was able to set the bandwith at 160 mhz and got roughly 1400 Mbps, so they do deliver

@jlavaseur Can you still do this? I thought I read that the ability to set it was disabled? And I certainly can't seem to find where it might be and even now in the XB8 I seem to be connected via wifi 6 but the speed is being kept to around 600mbps.
Also, yes, to the wi-fi 6 card, Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz.
Is there a way to go in and rename the individual network channels, so I could make them "routerX2", "routerX5" and "routerX6" for 2.4, 5, and 6? I can change the network name as a whole, but can't seem to rename the channels so I could push things to specific channels.

I have my own equipment now, but I picked up my old Xb7 at the Xfinity store, I had them activate it there, they just scanned the barcode, I hooked it up, it rebooted and I was online with full access to the admin panel..
