XB7 MAC filter issues

All, for the XB7 gateway the MAC filter the 2.4GHz when “Allow” it locks out the 2.4GHz and 5 GHz signals so that nothing can connect.

However, when the 2.4GHz is “Allow-all” and 5GHz is allow. It works as expected: 5GHz max filters.

This is really bad! Please help fix so that the mac filtering works with Allow on 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

Hello user_f52vdk

Below is a great link that breaks down the band steering process. It has a stellar group of FAQ's and background. You can also update your WiFi name and password by selecting your network from the WiFi tab in the Xfinity app and then selecting Edit WiFi settings. Here’s the step-by-step process.

Thanks. I am still having issues. The Mac filtering on XB7 does not work.

on 5GHz if I hit “Allow” every item with access will switch to 2.4Ghz and still be connected.
if I have “Allow” in 2.4 GHz as well as 5GHz everything is blocked!!!!

Does anybody know what is happening. My kid is Mac spoofing to get around the XFi app and only Mac filtering on XB7 will stop this…
