XB7 in Bridge Mode?
I have an XB6 that's working fine, I get about 950 down/40 up and things are generally stable. Got a message from xfinity offering to bump my speed up to 1.2 Gbps down for free if I just upgrade to the XB7. Silly me went for it without checking into bridge mode support, first attempt at installing XB7 was stopped cold by requirement to use xfinity Mobile app which refuses to begin process because XB6 is in bridge mode. After doing some research can't find any real confirmation that bridge mode is even supported on the XB7. Bridge mode is a must have for me. Does anybody know if Bridge mode is possible on the XB7 and if so does it work reliably? I'm starting to think this really isn't worth it........

Hi @user_6d2493! Thanks for joining us here in the forums. We recently upgraded several of our speed tiers across our national footprint. The XB unfortunately only had a Maximum Data Throughput up to 1 Gbps while the XB7 can accommodate a Maximum Data Throughput up to 2.5 Gbps, which was the reason for the updated equipment.
You can still enable bridge modem, I've included information below.
When Bridge Mode is enabled, you will not be able to use Xfinity xFi and xFi Pods (Learn the advantages of xFi). If you are a customer with xFi Advanced Security, you will not be able to access this feature if you choose to enable Bridge Mode on your Gateway. (Learn more about xFi Advanced Security.)
In addition, if you have already activated xFi Pods, you will not be able to enable Bridge Mode. Learn more about network settings required with xFi Pods.
Enabling Bridge Mode does not disable the Xfinity WiFi Home Hotspot feature (available on some Gateways). Learn more about turning your Xfinity WiFi Home Hotspot on or off.
Toggle Bridge Mode On/Off
Note: Your Wireless Gateway may restart.

I also did the same foolish thing of upgrading from xb6 to xb7. Xb6 was working fine in bridge mode with my tp link archer ax6000 router, but speed dropped drastically when using bridge mode in xb7, sometimes even unusable as the connection the internet was dropped from time to time. Even connecting to xb7 via Ethernet at port 1 did not work or was super slow when it’s in bridge mode. I spent hours on the phone with tech support still no luck. A technician is coming out tomorrow to look at it.

I am a home integration professional and I have bricked 2 of the XB7 gateways in the last 2 week. Both gateways were put into Bridge mode and would not connect to the router either time. The first one was a Apple Airport Extreme and other was Araknis AN-310 router. After replacing both XB7s I was able to set a static IP address for the router inside the gateway and then enable DMZ mode for the IP address of the router. It seems to be a good work around.
Unfortunately It is a huge pain to figure this out on the fly and to have to leave the job for a replacement gateway.
We use Bridge mode for all of our clients. So if the XB7 no longer supports Bridge mode please remove the option,
because It is literally the very first option on the home page and apparently no long works.
