XB7 in Bridge Mode working with UDM - UDM not getting Public IP
Up until last Wednesday, we had been worry free via an Arris modem (provided by us) connected to a Ubiquiti UDM router. I had about 10 port forwards set up on the UDM for gate relays and other servers on our LAN. All was working fine. I have attached a screen shot which shows the UDM not getting a public IP from the XB7. I have the UDM connected to Port 1 on the XB7 and the XB7 is in bridge mode.
The UDM is providing Internet to all connected devices, but the Port Forwarding on the UDM is not working. The UDM had been working just fine behind an Arris Modem until July 13, when we lost Internet and Comcast Agent said our Boot Record was messed up. She reset our connection and that stopped the UDM from working. The UDM had been working ever since Late April when we turned on the Comcast service. After 3 days of not being able to get the UDM to get Internet from the Arris Modem, I got the XB7 and had the agent put it in bridge mode and the UDM was connected and was able to pass Internet on to its connected devices. I then tested the port forward devices and they failed to work. I then noticed the UDM WAN was getting the 10.0.0.212 address and not the public address.
What setting on the UB7 needs to be changed to provide the UDM a public IP on it's WAN IP?

Comcast gateways supply 10.0.0.x addresses to client devices when the gateway is operating in its default "router mode". The agent probably took the gateway out of bridge mode. You'd need to put it back in so it passes the public IP on to your router.

BruceW, I apologize as my explanation was not clear: The Arris SB8200 was the original Cable Modem and is just a dumb modem with not Router capability and was working on July 13th when the agent did the reset on her end that stopped the Internet getting to the UDM. I replace the SB8200 just a few days ago with XB7. The XB7 is in Bridge Mode and supplying the 10.0.0.X to the UDM. Repeat the XB7 is in BRIDGE Mode and supply the 10.0.0X to the UDM and not the Public IP.

Then the device is defective and should be replaced. Gateways in bridge mode do not assign private 10.0.0.x IPs to attached equipment. Is the UDM configured for use with DHCP? Have both pieces of equipment been rebooted? Are any other routers involved?

Thanks for your fast response and yes the UDM is set for DHCP and the SB7 has not been rebooted. The UDM has been rebooted. No other Routers. Since the both the Bridged XB7 and the UDM are on line with our two Point of Sale boxes, I will have to wait til we close tonight at 9pm EDT to reboot the SB7. Looks like the agent would have told me to reboot the XB7... Bad Monkey... Thanks again and wish me a Public I P after 9pm.

BruceW:
No Joy. UDM is still showing the WAN IP of 10.0.0.212. Going to bed as I have a bike race I am in training and need to do go early for a 3 hour training ride in North Ga. Mountains. When I get back I will be calling Comcast and asking for Tier 2 Support as I don't think the tier 1 guys can figure this one out. Thanks again for your help and wish me luck tomorrow...

Apologies if you've already seen it, but https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/wireless-gateway-enable-disable-bridge-mode might have some useful info for you.

Joy... I woke up at 1pm for a nature break and I sent straight to the key board and checked into the XB7 and sure enough it was NOT in Bridge mode after I did the power reset! I turned on BRIDGE MODE and restarted the UDM and we have joy! All is good again here in Georgia... Thanks for getting me through such a absurd chain of events and to all a good night! 1:38am

Excellent! When working with the phone reps, the saying "trust, but verify" is a good one to keep in mind. Glad you got it worked out! And thank for posting the outcome.
