XB7 Gateway RJ45 sockets
I have an XB7 Gateway that is working fine! It has 4 RJ-45 sockets at the bottom of the backside for devices to plug in. The socket in the bottom right of that group of 4 has an orange stripe beside it. Does that mean it is only providing 100Gbs connectivity there? When I connect a device via that socket, the top LED on the device's socket only flickers amber not green and I am concerned about the throughput. Hope someone can help me.

Yellow is 10/100. The orange or red stripe port is actually a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port on the X7s and X8s. If the device is 1Gbps, it should be green -- well, if you've got a decent Ethernet cable. Cat6 at least. Cat 7/8 is better. Hardware does the speed negotiate. There aren't any hardware settings for the ports on Xfinity.
Maybe try a different cable if the device is 1Gbps?

OK - CAT7 plugged in to the orange stripe port. The other end is into a 2.5GBASE-T port. Throughput is advertised as 2.5Gbps / 1000 Mbps / 100 Mbps / 10 Mbps. Amber LED is illuminated! 🥺

The only place I can find that wording is in a manual for a Buffalo LinkStation NAS unit. Do you actually have it in an XB7 gateway manual?
ETA: Or maybe two companies made the same goofy decision . . .
