Thanks for the reply.  Turns out I didn't have the latest version of the Xfinity App.  Once I have that, the right tabs showed up.

@BruceW There is no "View WiFi equipment" option in my Xfinity app and I already have the latest version of it.

Also, if I try to use my browser to log in at 10.0.0.1, it does not give me an option to log in with username/password.  It only says "Managing your home network settings is now easier than ever. To manage your gateway settings and other features, please download the Xfinity xFi app."  This used to work before.

How can I log into my xfinity modem/gateway (XB6) now?

@user_qd5uvz - As of late 2025, we have implemented a security update that disables the local Admin Tool (10.0.0.1) by default for most newer gateways, including the XB6. This is why you are seeing a redirect message instead of a login prompt. To regain access, you must first "unlock" the local login option through the app. If you don't see "View WiFi equipment," it's likely because your gateway isn't fully synced with your account profile.

Step 1: Fix the Missing "WiFi" Options in the App
If the "WiFi" tab or "View WiFi equipment" option is missing, it usually means the app doesn't recognize you as the Primary User or the modem hasn't finished its "digital activation."

- Check your Login: Ensure you are signed in with the Primary Xfinity ID. Secondary users often cannot see equipment settings.

- Trigger a Refresh: In the app, go to the Account tab and look for an option to "Restart Gateway" or "Troubleshoot." Sometimes running a simple connection test forces the app to refresh your equipment status.

- The "Hidden" Activation: If the above fails, type "Activate" in the Xfinity Assistant (chat icon). Even if your internet is working, the system may need to re-run the activation handshake to link the equipment to your app interface.

Step 2: Enable the 10.0.0.1 Admin Tool
Once the WiFi tab appears in your app:

- Tap the WiFi tab at the bottom.

- Select View WiFi equipment.

- Select Advanced settings.

- Look for Admin Tool online access.

- Toggle the switch to Allow.

After saving this, you should be able to go back to your browser, type 10.0.0.1, and see the classic login screen.

Step 3: Log In (New Credentials)
Note that with the recent updates, the default password may no longer be "password."

- Username: admin

- Password: Use the Default Case-Sensitive Password printed on the sticker at the bottom or side of your XB6 gateway.

[!IMPORTANT] If you are in Bridge Mode: The Xfinity app often hides WiFi settings entirely while Bridge Mode is active. To access the Admin Tool in this state, you may need to perform a Factory Reset (hold the WPS button for 30–60 seconds) to bring it back to default settings, then immediately enable the Admin Tool toggle in the app before re-enabling Bridge Mode. Please let us know if this helps.
