XB7 & 802.11b Devices

I've had devices running on my XB7 for 6 years. After July 16th, one device that did work, will no longer connect to the WiFi. I learned that the device "DIYMetar" relies on 802.11b connections. I've only had it connected to the XB7, and now it no longer connects. Did something change to the XB7 firmware in July?
