XB6 & XB7 Lag Spikes on Consoles

Before I owned a XB7, I had an XB6. They had both the same problem, lag spikes when playing games on consoles. The Internet would go from 20ms-300+ms sometimes my entire internet would pause for my console for 10 seconds then resume the game. When I had the long one, I think XB4-5 I didn't have this problem the speeds were just slow and I couldn't stream. Im just curious if there's a fix because you can't change WiFi Channels anymore. We shouldn't pay for something we won't get the fullest out of.

Good morning @LingZhu, and thank you for bringing this to our attention through our Forums page! I understand you've been experiencing some speed issues with your in-home network, when trying to game, and being a gamer myself, I can most certainly imagine the amount of inconvenience this could be causing, especially if you're doing any streaming. Rest assured; you're with a pro, and I will be more than happy to help! What kind of games do you primarily play? 😄

My name is Tyler, and our Digital Care Team is here, every step of the way! Have you tried to set your game console up with our port forwarding feature? If not, I've attached a link below, which will provide you with the steps on how this can be done, to make sure your console is receiving the proper amount of network flow, in terms of upload/download speeds. Please let me know if this was helpful, and our team will be standing by. 🙂

It has nothing to do with the internet connection. I get lag spikes more on the XB7 than I did with the XB6 playing on a local dedicated Minecraft server.
