XB10 Internet Speed Issues
I cant find a solution to this problem ANYWHERE, and the customer service reps on the phone and in store seem to have no solution whatsoever.
To make it as simple as possible, I switched to the XB10 today after having the XB8 for many months. My Download/Upload Speed were at a constant 2300mbps/360mbps with the XB8.
I have been paying for the 2GB Sequential on X Class plan for quite a few months now, so I have the correct plan. I test speeds from my PC with a 5GB Ethernet port on the motherboard using a CAT8 cable. So all my hardware and X class plan meets requirements.
After setting up my XB10 today, Ive had constant issues and fluctuations with my Download/Upload speeds. Download speeds on the XB10 have been ranging from as low as 600mbps, to 2000mbps. My upload speeds on the XB10 have been as low as 12mbps, to a high of 300mbps. Constant changes after every test even a few minutes apart, and even on the Xfinity app connection test it says im not longer reaching 100% of my plans speeds when it use to exceed 100% with the XB8.
I have tried many times to reset my modem and nothing has changed, I have extremely lower Download/Upload speeds after switching to the XB10 when my speeds on the XB8 were always consistent. This has been a headache and im hoping someone can help me find a solution.

Good morning and happy Sunday OsoRexx! I'm sorry to hear that you aren't getting the correct speeds after upgrading your modem. Just to clarify, are you using a stand-alone router along with the XB10 or any network switches? You mentioned that you've run a speed test from the app, have you also performed any troubleshooting in the app or checked that the connections are secure?

I'm also having the same issue. On the xb10 internet consistently drops but never did with the xb8...
There's a huge hardware problem with the xb10. I'm going to go swap back to the 8.

I had a filter on the line, which is not compatible with the xb10; it was a moca filter. And the solved some connectivity issues but I still had issues. So I got tired of the issues and I just bridged the xb10.

And apparently, moca filters are required for everything, including the xb8. Remove the filter and try the xb10.

There were two issues.
First, the node outside my house was missing some signals. This was escalated to a different technician to fix and wasn’t related to my equipment, so the visit fee was waived.
Second, there was a splitter. The XB10 is very sensitive to certain splitters, so we reworked the setup: the outside cable now connects directly to the XB10, the XB10 connects to my MoCA adapter, and the MoCA adapter connects to the other side of the split coax. This effectively dedicates my house to the MoCA network, and I’m now getting symmetrical download and upload speeds.
