XB10 10Gb Port Speedtest slower than 1Gb Port

I recently got an XB10 after having used my own Arris S33 modem, and I did a quick speedtest using Xfinity's site. I have the 2GIG service and a MacBook Pro M4 with a 2.5Gb ethernet adapter.

When I run speedtest on just Ethernet via the 10gb port, I get ~75Mbps and when I run it from the 1Gbg port I get ~1Gb. My initial thought is I have a flow control problem and anyone seen this and recommend how to address it? These were direct connections with a very highend Mac that is easily capable of handling the speeds.

Hi there, @startedwithasmi! The 2 Gig speed is so nice! We are happy to help so you can get that working on your devices. This link shows the requirements to get the 2 Gig speed, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/requirements-to-run-xfinity-internet-service. Are you using at least a Cat6 or Cat6a ethernet cable? Does your Mac meet the other requirements? Have you tried any troubleshooting steps such as resetting the modem or going through the troubleshooting steps in the Xfinity app?

@XfinityRay I appreciate the guidance, however given I am getting significant speed differences from just changing ports on the XB10, not sure if the guidance matches what I have already tried.

We understand the fast port is giving you 75 Mbps vs the other ports at 1 Gig. We are just making sure your setup is correct before we dive deeper into the troubleshooting this, @startedwithasmi. The CAT 5 cables support 1 Gig speed so that is why we ask about the cable you are using and for you to check that your Mac meets the requirements. I want to check your account from here to ensure we have the XB10 modem listed properly on your account as that can also cause this problem.

Xfinity Ray that was a good suggestion to check how the XB10 is listed on the account. The configuration could be set up as non-FDX which would be a problem for the equipment. You should not be allowed to install our self install without First checking that the provisioning is for FDX.
