Wrong time zone

We left on vacation for two weeks and had everything at home unplugged. Since we returned and started our modem again our time zone has been the wrong one. It has affected time zones on our tablet as well as local tv stations available on our smart tv (sling). Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Hi there @user_3528f0 and thank you for your question. Just to clarify, are you using an Xfinity modem or your own device?

Gotcha. So, we've seen this a few times on the forums, and one of our Experts had discussed the issue in length here: WiFi Network Thinks it's in Another Timezone

Since the device was unplugged for so long, and our residential services operate using dynamic IP's, so your IP address was shuffled about while offline. You can try the suggestions @EG mentioned in his comment or simply power cycling the equipment and attempting to obtain a new IP address.

I have had the problem with the modem’s internet time brushed away as inconsequential, and upon insisting that it is a problem, responses with defensive approach and accusations of interests beyond solving the problem.

Still the issue is not addressed neither a solution is presented other than opinions and speculations by Comcast Official reply referencing an unofficial opinion.

Is it possible to have an objective answer and solution to this problem today November 7, 2021 the date that my modem reports the correct time since it reports the wrong time for the period before daylight savings time begins?

@user_3528f0 If you're not willing to try the suggestion that @XfinityBrie made to reference that other thread, there's not a lot we can do to help you.  XfinityBrie is a corporate employee that knows her stuff and @EG is very competent, well respected by the employees, and highly trained in these kinds of issues [yes, he does have degrees to prove it].  FWIW, this is primarily a customer-to-customer help and support forum.  You came looking for help and help has been offered.  I hope that you decide to try the suggestions.
