wpa-2 error message

Ever since the Xfinity network upgrade (locally on June 29, 2023) I keep getting intermittent WiFi disconnects to my desktop computer and our smart phones. It says; "This network requires a WPA-2 Password" but when I enter the proper password (already saved in the settings) it doesn't log in, it repeats the error message. Sometimes when I reboot the router everything logs in automatically and works for several hours, but then it repeats the problem.

The router has been running fine with this equipment for at least five years without this problem. Did the login/authentication standards/process change in some way?

I have talked to tech support, they suggested changing my network name and password. I did that, it worked for a few hours, and then the problem returned.

Could my modem be outdated for the new network configuration?
