Hello, @user_20f618! Thank you for bringing your connectivity concerns to our attention. Are you still experiencing issues?
If your advanced WiFi settings are visible and your channel settings are set to Auto, your Xfinity Gateway will automatically detect and connect devices using the optimal channel to provide the best WiFi signal at any given time. This selection is based on several factors, including:
- The number of other devices currently using a channel. - The distance from the device to the gateway. - Whether the device is capable of connecting using 5 GHz.
If you don't see the 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi channel settings (i.e., WiFi Mode, Channel Selection and Channel Mode), it means that these settings are being managed automatically to help optimize your home network and provide the best performance possible. Please review How To Change Your Home Network's WiFi Channel Selection or Mode for further information.
Then, just to clarify, were you not seeing the 2.4 GHz option at all on your wireless devices, under the WiFi network options? Or were you seeing it and attempting to connect, but having issues connecting to that particular bandwidth?
