windows 10 dns server not responding

I have set all network settings to the correct values and yet I consistently get "dns server is not responding"

I have tried setting Ip4 to point to specific dns servers [Opendns and google] and that had the same result. I also ran command prompts to flush dns etc. No successful results!

Finally reverting to the settings as specified by Xfinity for Windows 10 and frustratingly the problem remains
