wifi

according to what i found on xfinity, if you have a xb6 or newer modem, you CANNOT have both 2.4 and 5 to run devices in your home. so can you go back to a older modem. what a pain! you think xfinity would tell you about this!

Actually, you can use separate channels. What you have to do is use the Xfinity app to assign different SSIDs and passwords. Once you've done that, you'll be able to assign your devices to 2.4 or 5GHz as needed. The 6GHz channel is actually wifi 6E and that isn't backward compatible with any 6GHz devices. As far as I know, this only works on the xb8.
