Wifi

Hi I have noticed our internet slowing and dropping. I noticed when logging in I can see my neighbors devices connected to my router and he can see mine connected to his gateway. Thinking it was someone hacking in, I changed my wifi password and restarted gateway prior to knowing this. I did some digging around and first thing I did was disabled Hotspot thinking that would fix the issue, it didn't. I read a few posts on here about people having similar issues and decided since his devices show up as moca and we don't use moca, I would just disable moca. I tried doing what was suggested in another post and unplug coaxial cable to gateway, then disable moca but it remains connected!!! This is very frustrating for both me and my neighbor. Either something isn't hooked up right on the hardware side or I'm missing something. I've never had so many issues with a router/modem, would rather bring my own gateway but found out I can only use select few!! Can we please have the internet we paid for!!?? We've been paying high prices only to find out we're not getting what was advertised! Please help.

You need to use a MoCA P.O.E. (Pont Of Entry) filter on the input port of the first splitter off of the street drop like this one:

If you are not using the MoCA feature on your home network, you can put the POE filter right at the back of your gateway device instead.

It will block the neighbors' MoCA signals from affecting your network. You can also get one for free at your local Comcast / Xfinity store.

I have the adapter but it seems that they have the ability to keep my divice paused still. Why do they have control over my account still. I have reset my password to my account and network. Its not a security issue

I still don't have access to my internet because my devices are paused by this unknown account.

Have you first tried power-cycling / re-starting the gateway device ? Still no joy ? Try hard resetting the device to factory defaults by pressing and holding in the recessed reset button on the rear (or use the WPS button if it doesn't have a reset button hole) for 30 seconds. This can sometimes clear up some weird behavior issues. You will lose any customized settings, and they will need to be re-configured from scratch if you do the latter.

Good luck !

They need to be the ones to reset their modem. I've done everything I can do.

So you are saying that you already did it ? If you are using that POE filter, then there is no way that they can still be controlling your network. It's on your end. Have you tried unpausing the devices in the Xfinity App ? Have you tried forgetting the network in the individual devices and then re-finding it ?
