Wifi
I'm sure this has been addressed previously, but I am still confused about the difference between XFINITY and xfinitywifi. I have read the posted information. Do you need to be an Xfinity internet customer to access xfinitywifi? If not, is that service secure? I access XFINITY by logging in to my account. I have not tried xfinitywifi because I do not trust it - yet. But XFINITY is sometimes not available. If xfinitywifi is an open, free service, why does Comcast make such a service freely available to everyone?

@VitaminE Thanks for creating a post on our Community Forums. For our Hotspot connections, we would always recommend connecting to the XFINITY network when available since it is a secure connection to best protect your information. You should still need to sign in with your Xfinity credentials on the xfinitywifi network, but that is available for all customers, regardless of their tier of service. This link can provide more information as well.
