Wifi Upgrade Not Showing

I upgraded my Wi-Fi from 200 Mbps to 400 Mbps but have not seen a difference in my Wi-Fi speed. When I am right next to the modem and router, I get speeds up to 140 mbps and when I’m in my room (farthest away from router) I only get about 15 mbps. I would like to get what I’m paying for. The modem is SB6190 and the router is nighthawk rax70.

Thank you for reaching out @user_1niw6b. The best speed test is with a device connected to your modem with an ethernet cable. When you are connected through WiFi there are a number of factors that can affect the speed such as the number of devices currently connected, how far you are from the modem, etc. When you upgraded did you check the link: https://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com/ to check on compatible modems and to make sure the modem you are using is compatible? I want to let you know that there are great benefits to using our Xfinity modem https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/why-rent-wireless-gateway.

I want to make sure we are respecting your time and not repeat the steps you have taken previously. What troubleshooting steps have you taken?

I also wanted to make sure you are aware that any time you need to troubleshoot our Xfinity app can assist you step by step. It is not just to pay your bill or to get notifications about interruptions. To learn how to troubleshoot in the future you can follow the link: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/using-xfinity-app. Honestly, it is the best app to date that we offer and super easy to use for all of your account needs!
