WiFi set up

I just got two new internet motums. Gateways I’m pretty sure (from all of the research I just had to do to figure these out). I have been setting these things up for well over an hour and no other wifi device has ever taken me this long. I cannot get into contact with anyone. How do I connect the second device to the first one I just set up and created a new network with? I don’t want to set up two new networks for my one house and it’s making it seem like that is the only option.

Are you trying to connect two gateways at the same time?  Or a gateway and pod, or a gateway and an external router?  If you have two modems, you cannot activate both, or connect them together (technically you can, but it is very difficult to do).  Your setup should be a gateway and a modem, or a gateway and a third party router. Please circle back and tell us what the two devices are you are trying to set up.

Ok yes they are two gateways. I wish support could've told me this exact thing! Thank you. What do I need to search for to find a modem? or a third party router? Whatever is most recommended.

Your setup should be a gateway and a modem,

Gateway devices already have a built in cable modem.

or a gateway and a third party router.

The gateway device would need to be in bridge mode, or there will be an undesirable double NAT condition.

If you go with an external router, any one will do. xfinity does not have an approved list of third party routers.
