I have a modem but I need to know if the TPLINK WA801ND router would work with my 25mbps connection

Yes. Any router will work. You'll just need to power cycle the cable modem after you connect the router to it.
that's not true. Years ago when i lived elsewhere, my 3x netgear routers would not work with high speed internet. We called Comcast and they had to send us a router better equipped to handle the speed. (router, not cable modem)
Look, any router that speaks ethernet will speak to a cable modem that also speaks ethernet..... It has nothing to do with the provider. They don't care what one has connected to the LAN interface / side of a cable modem.
I don't know what to tell you. I used to be able to search this site to see what routers are compatible, but it no longer displays anything other than about 8 netgear cable modems etc. I even had people ask me for my router model number to see if it is compatible with xfinity. Google for WNR2000, tons of people were having problems with that and comcast
They don't classify routers like that. Only straight cable modems and those combo modem / router gateway devices. You know, things that actually attach to their cable system. As stated, they don't care what you connect on the LAN side of a cable modem.
