Wifi router box beeping intermittently

The wifi box is beeping a lot entry so often. I've tried restarting it but that didn't work. What's the problem and how to fix it?

Greetings, @user_dk6e5m! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your gateway, but you have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

Some gateways may beep due to various reasons such as low battery, connectivity issues, or system alerts. If you have a battery backup or UPS, you may want to check it to make sure everything is functioning properly. If this continues happening, please reach out to us so we can check things out on our end.

If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you.

To send a Direct Message, please click on the “Direct Message” icon in the top-right corner of the screen, next to the bell icon, click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon, then type or select "Xfinity Support". Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window and press Enter to send your message and initiate a live session.

I had a new router installed in the last months. Ever since then I hear an annoying chirp, dee-deep, about every 60 seconds. I thought it was my pc 2 feet from the router, possibly the CMOS motherboard battery. Anyway I just broke down the pc and moved it out of the room, also turned off the external pc speakers. Still chirping. The router is the only thing new in the room and the only thing powered up. It needs service!

@rootazoid I talked to Comcast scheduling about a tech visit. Turns out my modern router has no speaker or any other hardware that could emit a sound. Hmm, so... maybe it my Brother printer that appears off but is really just asleep. Yep, a beep is a thing when it needs a firmware update! Why doesn't it flash it's LED panel?

rootazoid Good luck! We are here to help if you conclude that the modem is making noises but for the most part there is no way the modem could beep.
