It may be possible to move the equipment to a different room your self, it would depend on whether the new room has an activated coaxial cable outlet. To quickly determine if your coaxial cable outlet is active, plug your cable modem into the outlet. If the device powers up, syncs, and establishes a connection, your outlet is live. If there is not an active outlet in the room, you would need to schedule a technician to make the change.
