Wi-Fi Extremely slow even right next to the modem/router.
I have ordered 1GB Download and the only PC that is connected directly to the Modem/router is getting 700-800 Mbps. Can I run Cat 6 cable from the Xfinity modem/router to the other PCs and will they experience these speeds? Because right now they are getting under 200mbps! Pathetic! I am paying for 1000mbps!!! That is what I should get 1000mbps not 200-400mbps!!! I went and purchased a $200.00 cable modem/router and Xfinity blocks the router from getting internet access!!! I have also purchased wi-boosters but still way shy of 1000mbps!

If you get a gigabit router, you can connect your PCs to that via Ethernet and get online (or should be able to). The desktop PC I'm on now is connected via Ethernet to my router. In my case, my router is old enough that it's slow enough that it "caps" my download speeds to about half of what I'm paying for. When I connect my PC directly to my third party cable modem, I get the full download speed. If you get a gigabit wireless router, it should have 4 or so gigabit ports and you can just turn off the wifi functionality.
Anyway, good luck!

@user_e7hpze All else aside, you won't be able to get gigabit speeds with that device. Comcast rates it at only 864 Mbps. It only a 24 channel/ DOCSIS 3.0 unit. It's a bit outdated.
