WiFi Channels Being Used By Several Other Networks

I am having repeated issues with my Xfinity xfi gateway.  Off and on some of my smart devices that require 2.4 ghz band lose connection.  I have been restarting my gateway at least once or twice a week to get them to get reconnected.  Usually that works and then a different device will lose connection.  So I tried to research and saw that many recommended separating and broadcasting the 2.4 ghz and 5ghz bands as separate SSIDs which I did.  That didn't work.  Wreaked havoc on all of my devices and virtually none of them would reconnect, even though I left the 2.4ghz band with the original SSID and password.  So I returned them to normal and stopped broadcasting them separately.  I then disabled the 5ghz band to try and get the devices that require 2.4 ghz to connect, with the intention of turning the 5ghz band back on.  But as soon as I did that, it also wreaked havoc.  Nothing would connect.  After several attempts my iPad finally connected again which allowed me to go back in and turn the 5 ghz band back on.  But now after turning it back on, none of my mobile devices, laptop or AppleTV's will connect at all.  On my iPhone I keep getting the error message that it can't connect because the WIFI channels are being used by several other nearby networks and restarting the gateway may help.  I've tried restarting multiple times with no luck.  So At this point I can't even log back on to the gateway as an admin and force it to return to factory settings so I can totally set up my network again.  This has become very, very frustrating and makes me want to change my internet providers, but unfortunately there are no other options in my neighborhood. So now I am researching purchasing my own modem and wifi router.  I'd rather not have to do that because part of the promotion for my plan included the Xfi gateway for not cost.  I have seen multiple other posts like this on the community but there is never a resolution posted and shared.  Here's hoping someone from Xfinity will pick this up and give me a fix for this.If I just need to get a new gateway, tell me and I will return this to the Xfinity store.
