WiFi Channel Selection

I have an XB8 Gateway. I have a device that I am trying to connect that requires a 2.4 GHZ connection. With the XB8 I cannot choose between a 5, 6, or 2.4 GHZ channel. As a result this device will not connect. Please share how I can connect this device.

You can find instructions for seperating your Wi-Fi bands here https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/change-wifi-mode-admin-tool-xfinity-xfi. Please let me know if you have any troubel with the process.

[Edited: "Inflammatory"]  I specified that I have an XB8 Gateway. The link you sent specifically states that on XB6 gateways and newer advanced settings “are not visible and cannot be managed from the Admin Tool or Xfinity app.”

user_psjxie -  We can replace the XB8 with a different model of equipment if you would prefer not to have the new gateway going forward. You also have the optoin to purchase and use your own equipment from the approved devices list. Check out recommended devices for our internet plans here.
