Why is my internet so slow?

I'm paying for "Gigabit Internet Plan, Download speeds: up to 1200 Mbps" .

On speedtest.net the highest download speed I've seen is 40Mbps.

I know it says "up to 1200 Mbps", but we're talking a difference of an order of magnitude and then some.

@user_20aa4a Thanks for creating a post on our Community Forums, though I'm sorry to hear that you are having these speed issues. We would need to check a few signals and the surrounding area to see if we can tell where the disruption is in the incoming signal to your equipment. Would you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue.
