Why is 10.0.0.1 pointing to “router.io”?
I’m not able to access the router admin page at 10.0.0.1. It keeps pointing to http://router.io and that page doesn’t even load. I feel it may be certificate related, but not sure how I should fix that. I searched and found a similar issue in another discussion on this same forum, however instead of providing the answer, all the responses asked the commenter to contact them privately.
XFINITY: I will NOT be contacting you privately. Other people deserve to know the resolution if they have the same problem.

I'm having the same issue. Freshly installed my router, and without configuring any DNS or port forwarding. It redirects 10.0.0.1 to myrouter.io with every attempt i've tried. I've tested on brave, mozilla, chrome, edge, safari, opera; all do it. HTTP and HTTPS - both do it as well. Other forum posts that bring this up drop off when someone mentions 10.0.0.1 is local and shouldn't use https, or xfinity agent says they DM'd their account and never do.
Been struggling with Xfinity support for days and the closest I've gotten is them requiring me to reach out to the advanced support team - and all they could do is schedule a technician visit.
I had a support agent tell me they've removed that functionality from newer xfi routers. I really hope this isn't true.

Hello, @RoMedE, your best bet is to call our Customer Security Assurance team. They can be reached at 1-888-565-4329 7 days a week from 8:00am - 12:00am Eastern Time. They can take a closer look at the issue and why 10.0.0.1 is redirecting to router.io.
