Why are multiple devices (security cameras, smart plugs, smart bulbs, etc) keep going offline???

Multiple devices are offline suddenly for the past few days.  I have not installed any new router or devices. I've tried resetting the router, the devices, and unplugged and plugged both to see.  I've delete the devices and re-installed them.  After router reset, it might function for a short period and then go offline again.  The wifi signal is strong.  One device, if I open and stay on it long enough, it might reconnect again.  So frustrating!!

Hi there, @user_d42fq8! Thanks for your question about your smart device and cameras going offline. We are glad to further help so all your devices are stable. Do those devices show they need to connect to the 2.4 network only? Do you have 1 WiFi name for your home Network (band steering)?

I use a Xfinity modem with 1 WiFi name. I also have lots of devices that need to connect to the 2.4 GHz network only. These steps helped me to get everything working, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/issues-connecting-devices-wifi-network. For most all of my devices, the 1st set of steps worked.

  1. On a device connected to your gateway, open a browser and go to http://10.0.0.1.
  2. Log in to the Admin Tool.
  3. Select Connection, then Wi-Fi.
  4. Click Edit next to 5 GHz.
  5. Select Disable and click Save Settings.
  6. Connect your smart device using its app.
  7. Go back and re-enable the 5 GHz band.
