Which modem should I purchase?
I keep getting messages from Xfinity that my current modem needs to be replaced/upgraded to take full advantage of the Gigabit plan I'm on. I generally agree. My modem is Motorola, it is very reliable but old and needs an upgrade. Currently my download / upload speeds are ~900 / 24 MBs, and this is much as it can handle. I have researched the list of Comcast "recommended" modems and what's available and am deciding between Arris S33 and S34. I would prefer S34 (it should have better upload speeds), but it looks like many users have complained that provisioning may be problematic. I can go with S33, but don't know this would improve the upload speed. Can the community share their experience on either model? Thanks!

Just an update - I searched for available modems, and can see that either Arris S34 or Netgear CM3000 would support higher download and especially upload speeds; however, both modems are recommended for use with mid/high-split technology. I don't know if my area has been upgraded, and if my plan supports mid/high-split. How do I find out before I purchase one of these modems? Also, I have read that these modems sometimes are challenging to get provisioned by Comcast - how do I make sure that this would not be a problem once I purchase the new modem? Xfinity Support - would you please help to clarify this?
