When I print on a printer connected to the router, the wifi goes out suddenly and comes back after 5 minutes

Every time someone at home prints on a Brother MFC-L5700DW series printer on the network, the wifi dies!

Hello user_9e228b this sounds like a weird one! Is this the only thing going on in the home, or is everyone still using other devices over Wi-Fi?  Have you tested this on PC and mobile devices? Is the Wi-Fi completely resetting?

Everything else works fine.  This happens whether we print from a PC, Mac or iphone.  Chat GPT said to connect the printer directly to the router rather than using Wireless.  I have done that and it still happens.  It is such a pain to print now because you lose wifi for at least 3-5 minutes until it reboots.

@user_9e228b Can you try the steps listed below for me and let me know if it helps?

If your Brother MFC-L5700DW printer is causing WiFi issues when printing, consider the following steps:

  1. Ensure your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date.
  2. Check your wireless gateway settings, including security and firewall settings.
  3. Try printing a wireless network test report from the printer to identify connection issues.
  4. If problems persist, consult the printer's user guide for troubleshooting steps specific to your model.
