What port on my xb7 modem do I plug my meshforce m7

I have a xb7 modem and just bought a meshforce m7 router. What port do I need to plug my router into. I had an m3 but the m7 is having allot of connection issues and signal dropping. I was thinking about upgrading to the xb8.

It shouldn't matter, but on the XB7 or XB8, the port with the orange or red stripe is a 2.5Gbps port.  Try that one.

If you are running in bridge mode on the gateway, power sequencing is also going to be important.  Pull the power cords on both.  Power the gateway first, and wait till it connects, then power your router.  In bridge mode, only one Ethernet connected device is supported.  The gateway is a pass thru device.  A connected computer/router/mesh network/device gets the public IP address in that arrangement.  There is some strangeness that can happen during power up when both come up at the same time depending on how the connected device handles networking.

If you are having inbound/outbound signal issues to the gateway and the connection is dropping, or the gateway is rebooting and breaking networking on your router, that's a different problem.   Then start here:  https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/internet-troubleshooting-tips/602dae4ac5375f08cde52ea0  Log into the management interface on the gateway and see what is going on.

Thanks for reaching out to our community forums, @user_eead56. In this case, you would need to set up our modem on bridge mode. For more information on this, you can visit us HERE
